Leon Slater’s Eventful Night at TNA Lockdown

1 month ago 0

Leon Slater had a memorable evening at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s (TNA) Lockdown pay-per-view event on Sunday. The night kicked off with Slater’s significant match against Cedric Alexander for the TNA X Division Championship. Notably, Slater risked his place in TNA history by agreeing to relinquish his name from the history books if defeated.

As all matches on Lockdown’s main card were held within a steel cage, Slater chose to use this to his advantage. During the contest, he climbed to the middle of the cage, executing a flying elbow drop. Despite Alexander’s efforts to ground Slater, the young British star proved overwhelming. Slater turned the tables by using Alexander’s signature move, the Lumbar Check, three times before delivering a 450 swanton from the top rope. Slater then pinned Alexander, breaking into tears upon reclaiming the X Division title.

Later in the night, Slater’s status as X Division champion took an unexpected turn. Following Nic and Ryan Nemeth’s capture of the TNA World Tag Team Championship over The Hardys, Slater entered the ring. He announced his decision to cash in his Option C opportunity, challenging Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship. As a result, cashing in Option C meant Slater relinquished the X Division championship.

Moving forward, Nemeth and Slater are slated to compete for the TNA World Championship at Bound For Glory on October 11 in Tampa, Florida.
