South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham has died at age 71 after a sudden illness. Preliminary reports from the D.C. medical examiner indicate an aortic tear due to cardiovascular disease as the cause. The Republican senator was noted for his strong focus on foreign policy and recently returned from Ukraine.
A registered nurse in California faces criticism for social media posts that appeared to express a wish for the deaths of President Donald Trump and the late Senator Graham. The Instagram story posted by Robert Acuna-Bagshaw, a registered nurse at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, featured a collage of public figures including Mitch McConnell, who is shown with text suggesting ‘Pull the plug.’ Below Trump’s picture is a countdown, and Graham’s is overlain with a tombstone reading ‘R.I.P.’
The post concluded with a remark suggesting a return to religion if the three figures were to pass away within the week. Acuna-Bagshaw’s account is identified as ‘lb_buddha’ with his name visible on the profile.
Senator Graham passed away at 10:23 p.m. on Saturday, with an autopsy confirming the initial findings. His office released a statement noting the death certificate will remain pending until completion of further tests.
Soon after, Mitch McConnell, hospitalized due to a fall, confirmed he had not suffered any serious complications or conditions, including a heart attack or stroke. Despite his recovery statement, McConnell provided no timeline for his Senate return.
Subsequent social media posts by Acuna-Bagshaw shared interactions with people he called ‘MAGA morons,’ detailing threats to his safety and employment. He accused these individuals of hypocrisy and violence, while asserting he is surveilling their online activities.
Fox News Digital attempted to reach out for comments from Long Beach Medical Center, Acuna-Bagshaw, Mitch McConnell, and the White House, but responses were not immediate.
