Swiss coach Murat Yakin voiced his disappointment with the officiating, stating, “It’s very painful that we were eliminated that way.”

The Egyptian Football Association protested perceived unfair officiating in their defeat by Argentina. Nevertheless, Argentine coach Lionel Scaloni advised journalists not to be influenced by social media’s portrayal of events. Following the England match, Messi addressed the ongoing criticism: “Reaching two consecutive World Cup finals is an accomplishment few achieve.
