LIV Golf Secures New Investment After Losing Saudi Funding

1 week ago 0

The controversial LIV Golf league, known for its breakaway nature, has announced a significant development. After losing its Saudi financial backing, the league has managed to find a lead investor to support its operations beyond the current season.

Scott O’Neil, the chief executive, confirmed this update. However, he did not disclose the identity of the investor. He mentioned that both parties have signed a term sheet which has received approval from LIV’s board. The finalization of the transaction is anticipated to occur in September.

This move leaves questions unanswered about how the league will uphold player contracts and other commitments that extend into the future.

Prominent players, including Bryson DeChambeau, continue to remain with LIV Golf despite its recent financial challenges.
