A mass shooting occurred at Virginia State University, leaving several individuals injured and prompting a temporary lockdown on campus.
Police officers received a report of a shooting at 1:30 a.m. located at the 3300 block of Boisseau Street. Upon arrival, authorities discovered five individuals with gunshot injuries near university dormitories.
According to university officials, the wounded were transported to nearby hospitals. Among those injured, one person remains in critical condition, while the other four sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.
The incident reportedly involved “multiple suspects,” and a strong law enforcement presence remains as investigations proceed.
