New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was acknowledged for his skill in avoiding direct answers during a discussion with podcast host Jillian Superstar. On her ‘360 with Jillian’ podcast, she asked him if he would pursue a presidential run if eligible. Mamdani, born in Uganda, replied that he never had to contemplate such a possibility.
During their conversation, Mamdani expressed contentment with his current role. ‘It’s hard to imagine a better job than this,’ he remarked, highlighting the appeal of working in New York City. Superstar complimented his response, suggesting he could ‘teach a master class on dodging questions.’
In an earlier interview on ABC, Jonathan Karl inquired whether Mamdani supported an amendment to allow non-native born individuals to run for president. Mamdani noted, ‘The Constitution looks good the way it is.’
Fox News Digital later confirmed Mamdani’s interactions with former Vice President Kamala Harris. He stated they had a brief conversation and acknowledged her efforts to maintain communication over the past months. Reports suggest these discussions, along with other meetings with progressive groups, aim to build support within the party, especially among those who didn’t back Harris in 2024.
The context of these developments includes significant successes by candidates backed by Mamdani in the New York primary elections, defeating establishment Democrats. The three candidates he endorsed – Brad Lander, Claire Valdez, and Darializa Avila Chevalier – won their primaries and are favored to win in the November elections.
