Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, received President Donald Trump’s endorsement in Minnesota’s governor race ahead of the August primary election. Lindell, a staunch Trump supporter, has been vocal about alleged fraud during the 2020 presidential election. He seeks the Republican nomination in a competitive primary. The winner will likely face Senator Amy Klobuchar, the front-runner in the Democratic primary, in November.

The Changing Political Landscape in Minnesota

This year, Minnesota’s governor race saw significant changes when Democrat Governor Tim Walz decided against a third term due to criticism of his handling of a fraud scandal and the state’s prominence in the Trump administration’s immigration policies. Two American citizens’ deaths by immigration officers in Minneapolis propelled immigration issues to the forefront of the election.

Trump endorsed Lindell on Truth Social, praising him as “one of America’s greatest and most hard working Patriots.” Trump emphasized Lindell’s dedication to election integrity.

A Minnesota Private Business Council survey revealed Demuth with 34 percent support, followed by Qualls with 28 percent, and Lindell with 24 percent. Notably, 15 percent remained undecided.

A SurveyUSA poll sponsored by KSTP-TV showed Lindell leading with 27 percent support against Demuth’s 22 percent and Qualls’ 17 percent. Twenty-four percent of Republicans were undecided, highlighting the race’s tight margins.

Demuth expressed her intent to unite the party and achieve victory in November. Qualls remained a Trump supporter, highlighting his alignment with America First policies.

Klobuchar’s statement to Newsweek labeled Lindell as Trump’s choice while expressing her desire to be Minnesota’s candidate.

Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. found Demuth closest in a matchup against Klobuchar, with Klobuchar leading 48 percent to Demuth’s 40 percent. Qualls and Lindell trailed Klobuchar significantly in matchups.

An Emerson College poll suggested Klobuchar’s consistent advantage over Lindell across multiple polls, asserting her as a strong favorite.
