Mustafa Ali entered Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s (TNA) Slammiversary event with uncertainty about his opponent for the International Championship open challenge. TNA’s director of operations, Daria Rae, was set to announce Ali’s challenger during the pre-show.
Ali, choosing not to wait, took to the ring during the pre-show. As Rae prepared to reveal the opponent, TNA director of authority, Santino Marella, interrupted. Both Marella and Rae declared that Ali’s open challenge would become a triple-threat match instead of the anticipated one-on-one contest.
The first opponent revealed was Rich Swann. Soon after, Uhaa Nation, previously known as Apollo Crews in WWE, debuted for TNA. Nation, a former intercontinental and U.S. champion with WWE, cleared Ali from the ring to focus on Swann initially.
Ali faced a tough challenge from both opponents but received support from Order 4 members Tasha Steelz and Special Agent Zero. Their distraction enabled Ali to capitalize on the one-on-one situation in the ring. Ali managed to avoid Swann and secured a victory with a backslide pin and a bridge.
This win marked Ali’s first International Championship reign since joining TNA in 2024. Ali had previously claimed the X Division Championship and was recognized as the X Division Star of the Year. Since forming Order 4, he remained mostly undefeated, capturing the International Championship against Trey Miguel at Rebellion in Cleveland.
