1 week ago 0

Netflix is stepping into the ‘Hot Ones’ arena. The streaming platform announced a new series titled ‘Hot Ones: Extra Heat’. This spinoff is based on the popular YouTube interview series hosted by Sean Evans, where celebrities eat spicy chicken wings.

The new episodes will air following significant live sports events and major premieres on Netflix. The show will debut on July 13, following the streaming of the MLB All-Star Home Run Derby. This move highlights Netflix’s competition with YouTube, which leads American TV streaming according to Nielsen. Netflix has recently partnered with YouTube creators like children’s host Ms. Rachel and science expert Mark Rober.

Sean Evans confirmed that ‘Hot Ones: Extra Heat’ will maintain the original show’s essence. Celebrity interviews and spicy chicken consumption will continue. The new show’s episodes will last around 30 minutes. However, the new series boasts a larger budget and increased spectacle. The show moves from its familiar black curtain studio to more vibrant locations. The first episode is set in a college baseball stadium.
