New $1 Coin Features President Donald Trump

4 weeks ago 0

The U.S. Mint has begun the production of a new $1 coin that displays the image of President Donald Trump. This announcement comes from the Treasury Department, marking another step in an ongoing series of initiatives by the Trump administration since he regained office in 2025.

Cash, often referred to in slang as ‘dead presidents,’ will now feature a living president. Historically, U.S. currency has predominantly showcased past presidents and notable figures, making this a significant deviation from tradition.

Over the past year, the administration has frequently incorporated Trump’s image and name across various federal outlets. This includes renaming federal buildings and issuing national park passes with his likeness. The introduction of Trump’s image on currency could be seen as a symbolic pinnacle of these efforts.

Currently, the total value of U.S. currency in circulation exceeds $2.46 trillion. This is the highest it has ever been, reflecting the substantial significance of physical currency in today’s economy.
