The New York Giants have committed to quarterbacks Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston for the next three seasons.
Jaxson Dart’s Position
Jaxson Dart remains the starting quarterback for the Giants. This follows his selection as the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Dart has signed a standard rookie contract that secures him with the team for at least four years.
Jameis Winston’s Role
Jameis Winston, serving as the primary backup, has agreed to a two-year contract extension. Last season, Winston stepped in as a starter in two games due to injuries. He recorded 37 completions out of 66 attempts, covering 567 yards, and scored two touchdowns with two interceptions.
Winston’s Career and Earnings
Winston, now 32, has earned significant contracts throughout his NFL career. After being the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, he signed a $25.3 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His subsequent earnings include $38.6 million, $4 million, and $8 million with the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Giants, respectively. His latest deal with the Giants is worth $13 million.
Giants’ Strategy
The Giants have opted to maintain only two quarterbacks on their active roster. This decision ensures stability at the quarterback position for the foreseeable future.
