Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi Shares Update on Health Following Cancer Diagnosis

Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi recently updated her fans on her health six months after revealing her cancer diagnosis. The reality star opened up in an emotional Instagram video, sharing that she underwent a hysterectomy after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. The video showcased her hospital journey and her thoughts as she prepared for surgery.

Polizzi, who is typically not good with pain, expressed her struggles following the surgery. She explained that the procedure involved significant removal, including the uterus, cervix, and other parts to ensure the removal of all cancerous cells. Despite this extensive operation, her ovaries were preserved to prevent early menopause.

“I told you guys in general I’m not good with pain, and I’ve really been trying to be tough, but it’s not great,” Polizzi said.

The reality star became emotional as she described the challenging process of surgery preparation, including the nervousness and anxiety she experienced. She recounted feeling scared and uncertain while going into surgery, unsure of what the outcome would be.

Polizzi also shared a lighter moment, recounting her determination to beat the anesthesia challenge, managing to stay awake for 10 seconds compared to the typical three. Besides the hysterectomy, she addressed her treatment for diastasis recti, a condition affecting her abdominal muscles after having three children.

“It’s a scary thing and a lot of us women deal with it, and no one really talks about it,” Polizzi explained, revealing her motive behind sharing her journey and hoping to provide a platform for other women.

She encouraged her followers, some of whom are undergoing similar procedures, to share their experiences and find comfort in knowing they are not alone. She emphasized the importance of managing post-surgery pain and the potential benefits, including not having periods and freedom from birth control.

Polizzi concluded with gratitude towards her supporters, urging everyone to keep up with their health screenings, notably Pap smears. Months ago, she had disclosed her Stage 1 cervical cancer diagnosis and anticipated having a hysterectomy.
