Ocasio-Cortez Gains Momentum for 2028 Presidential Bid

3 weeks ago 0

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is gaining significant momentum for a potential 2028 presidential run. Colin Reed, a Republican strategist, and Richard Fowler, a Fox News contributor, discuss her expanding political influence. They note her national tour, visiting states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, Alabama, and Montana as signs of her strategic positioning for a future campaign.

In a recent University of New Hampshire Granite State Poll, Ocasio-Cortez led with 22% support among likely Democratic primary voters, edging out Pete Buttigieg and distancing herself from Kamala Harris. This marks a seven-point increase for Ocasio-Cortez since the February survey, indicating her growing appeal among Democratic voters.

The survey reflects shifts in the political landscape. Buttigieg, a moderate with previous success in New Hampshire, continues to support fellow Democrats across the nation, while Kamala Harris’s support has dwindled to 5%, down from 10% in prior polls. The poll also highlights Bernie Sanders’s minimal support, with only 6%, suggesting his declining influence in the upcoming race.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is revising the primary calendar, potentially affecting early voting states like New Hampshire. Meanwhile, the Republican calendar remains unchanged, with Iowa set to lead, followed by New Hampshire.

As the political scene evolves, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s activities hint at ambitions beyond her current role. Her ability to mobilize supporters around key issues positions her as a strong contender for future leadership within the Democratic Party.
