Cutler further argued that in the legal system, a judge would unlikely allow such a settlement where one party retains all marital income while the other receives none. He added that his and Cavallari’s lawyers would not endorse an arrangement where only one side benefits financially.

In response to Cavallari’s claims, Cutler called the statements “reckless” and akin to slander. While he refrained from sharing exact figures, he firmly stated that the settlement was not a matter of zero dollars.
