Prime Minister Carney had addressed climate change’s role in such fires, suggesting the U.S. should strengthen its efforts against climate change. His office has not yet commented on Trump’s latest remarks.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford defended Canada’s efforts, recalling their support during previous U.S. wildfires, notably in California. He urged U.S. politicians to assist rather than complain, highlighting that Ontario has backed American disaster responses consistently.
