President Donald Trump expressed admiration for New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart during an interview on “My View with Lara Trump.” Dart, a second-year player, recently faced criticism after introducing Trump at an event in New York.
The event took place at Eugene Levy Fieldhouse at Rockland Community College in Suffern, N.Y., on May 22, 2026. Trump discussed his economic accomplishments in a congressional district represented by Rep. Mike Lawler, who is seeking reelection in November.
Trump commented on Dart, stating, “First of all, I wished I looked just like Jaxson. I said, ‘Is he a male model?’ He’s a handsome, conservative guy. He said, ‘I love you, sir.’ He’s potentially a great quarterback. He’s a young boy who moves the team.” Trump praised Dart’s potential, saying that if he remains healthy, he will excel.
During the interview, Trump also referenced the 2024 presidential election, claiming victory over Kamala Harris and highlighting his widespread support across U.S. counties.
Jaxson Dart faced backlash from some, including teammate Abdul Carter, for his involvement in introducing Trump. Carter stated, “Some things are bigger than football, and this is one of those things.” He emphasized Dart’s role as a leader and representative of the franchise, but expressed disagreement with Dart’s choice to align with Trump.
Dart justified his decision by sharing his perspective. He explained that meeting the President felt right due to his upbringing. “This was a unique opportunity,” Dart stated. His family has a history of military service, influencing his respect for the presidential position regardless of political affiliation.
Dart demonstrated his quarterback skills by leading the Giants to a 34-17 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in East Rutherford on January 4, 2026.
The 2026 season promises significant developments for the Giants and their quarterback.
