President Donald Trump is scheduled to make a secret announcement from the Oval Office at 2 p.m. ET on Monday. The event will be accessible to the White House press pool, according to the president’s schedule.
On Sunday, Trump was questioned by a reporter regarding the nature of the ‘big announcement’. He hinted that it might involve a meeting planned for Tuesday with Dario Amodei, co-founder of AI company Anthropic. Trump expressed, “We’re meeting with Anthropic as you know on Tuesday that’s going to be big. And we have a couple of unrelated things tonight. And tonight I’m having dinner with the head of Anthropic so these are long days but I seem to be able to handle it… No, I’m having dinner with Dario, as you know very highly respected, from Anthropic.”
The White House press office was contacted by Newsweek on Monday for comments, though it was outside regular office hours.
Further details will emerge as they become available.
