Previewing the 2026 College Football Season

2 weeks ago 0

The anticipation for the 2026 college football season is mounting as teams prepare for fall camp. As August approaches, the familiar sights, sounds, and smells remind us that college football is almost here.

Oregon Ducks: A Contender for the National Championship

Among the teams vying for the national championship, the Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore stands out. In the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl semifinal against the Indiana Hoosiers, Moore showcased his skills. The game took place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on January 9, 2026.

Humor in the Huddle

Oregon tight end Jamari Johnson recently shared anecdotal insights about Moore at Big Ten Media Days. Johnson revealed to KOIN News’ Brenna Greene how Moore tries to lighten the mood in the huddle. Moore has been known to inject humor, sometimes even relying on jokes stemming from bodily functions.

“Alright guys, big fourth down coming up here, we’re going hard count, so don’t false start and also remember, he who smelt it dealt it. Okay, BREAK!”

Quarterback Candidness and Strategy

Despite humorous remarks, Moore expressed concern when told of Johnson’s comments, emphasizing the importance of maintaining team connection. Moore noted that excessive media leaks can be problematic.

Oregon is renowned for its up-tempo, no-huddle offense, a strategy dating back to the Chip Kelly era. Head coach Dan Lanning might have to maintain this approach amidst light-hearted distractions. Humor in the huddle doesn’t appear to be slowing the team, as they averaged 37 points per game, ranking tenth nationally.

Though humorous interruptions pose challenges, they haven’t hindered performance. Moore’s candidacy for the Heisman Trophy remains strong.
