Andy Williams, known in the wrestling world as The Butcher, died following a medical emergency during a show. Williams, aged 48, was participating in a match alongside his tag team partner, Jesse Guilmette, also known as The Blade at Enjoy Wrestling, Mr. Smalls Theater, Millvale, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred on Friday night.
The promotion reported that Williams collapsed as his match concluded. ‘Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived,’ the company stated. ‘We sent everyone home and are at the hospital now waiting for more information.’ The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to TMZ on Sunday that Williams had died.
Williams was also a guitarist for the band Every Time I Die. He, along with vocalist Keith Buckley, attended events such as the Gibson Brands AP Music Awards held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 21, 2014. His performances included the Maverick Stage at Download Festival in Castle Donington, UK, on June 13, 2015 and Magnolia in Milano, Italy, on August 29, 2012.
Williams began his wrestling training in the early 2010s, marking his debut in 2015. He and Guilmette formed their team in 2017, naming themselves The Butcher and The Blade, and performed in multiple wrestling promotions, including AEW, Ring of Honor (ROH), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
