Riley Green Ventures Into Acting with a Little Help from Luke Grimes

Riley Green, a rising star in the country music scene, has recently made his first move into acting with guidance from well-known friend Luke Grimes. During a Monday interview on “CBS Mornings,” the 37-year-old Alabama native explained how Grimes, recognized for his role in “Yellowstone,” encouraged him to explore acting. This encouragement led Green to a role in the CBS drama “Marshals.”

“The opportunity came about naturally,” Green shared about his connection with Grimes. “As he was beginning his music career and visiting Nashville, we found ourselves working together on music.” Green expressed his interest when Grimes suggested an acting role, later auditioning for a part and securing it. “I flew to Utah, and we filmed,” he recounted, emphasizing how the experience unfolded unexpectedly.

Earlier this year, Green reflected on the uniqueness of the scenario. “It’s rare for a show’s star to personally involve themselves in someone’s audition,” he noted to USA Today. “The friendship with Luke made it less daunting to enter an unfamiliar environment.” For Green, transitioning from music stages to a film set presented a notable change.

Green, who debuted on “Marshals” as Garrett, a former Navy SEAL dealing with PTSD, admitted acting felt more daunting than performing music. “Performing live has become second nature after countless shows,” he told Fox News Digital at the show’s premiere. “But acting brought new challenges.”

The unexpected turn into Hollywood marks the latest chapter for Green, who initially worked as a construction worker until a record deal in 2018 altered his career path. Despite newfound fame, he stays grounded, maintaining his home in Alabama instead of moving to Nashville.

“I’ve always been fortunate for my gradual success,” Green said, crediting his experience for handling fame. His construction background shaped his values, preferring a rural lifestyle over city living. “I thrive on a farm or during hunts,” Green mentioned, stressing his connection to his roots.

Green’s music career kicked off after signing with Big Machine Label Group in 2018. His debut hit “There Was This Girl” marked the beginning of multiple successes. Yet, amidst Hollywood and musical accomplishments, Green holds his original life dear, choosing simplicity over celebrity life.
