Scripps National Spelling Bee 2026

The Scripps National Spelling Bee kicks off in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, featuring 247 talented finalists from every state. These participants emerged from millions of hopeful competitors nationwide, each aspiring to claim victory this year after last year’s exciting event.

This edition of the competition will be hosted by ESPN’s Mina Kimes. She joined Amna Nawaz to talk about her upcoming role and share insights into the event. This conversation provided a glimpse into her expectations and excitement surrounding the Bee.
