Sen. Fetterman Criticizes Graham Platner Following Senate Race Exit

Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, expressed his thoughts on Graham Platner following Platner’s withdrawal from the Maine U.S. Senate race after being embroiled in a scandal. On Jesse Watters Primetime, Fetterman remarked that Platner was always a “dead man walking” after the disturbing allegations against him came to light.

Platner’s campaign faced severe challenges due to multiple allegations, including sexual misconduct and domestic abuse. He eventually stepped down on Wednesday, declaring in an 11-minute video that the rape accusation from a former partner was “false.” It’s important to note that Platner has not been criminally charged regarding this accusation.

Fetterman voiced strong opinions about Platner, stating, “To give that weird long speech and pretend like people will miss you? No one’s going to forget you other than [as] the guy that was pushed out of the election because a woman credibly accused you of raping her. So that’s his legacy.” He further added, “Adios, trash bag.”

Platner, a military veteran with a background in oyster farming, was defending himself from various controversies during his campaign. These included allegations of abuse from former partners and a tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol.

The allegations that culminated in Platner’s withdrawal were from Maine resident Jenny Racicot. She claimed that Platner entered her home without permission and coerced her into having unprotected sex despite her objections.

Fetterman criticized his fellow Democrats, including Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who had endorsed Platner previously. He said, “What did [Democrats] see in this guy? Was it the Nazi tattoo, was it the gross messages online, the way he roughs up women? Bernie Sanders needs to apologize to the voters of Maine and to everyone that donated to that train wreck of a campaign.”

The Democratic Party’s struggle to secure a Senate majority in the upcoming elections has been affected by Platner’s withdrawal from the race, which complicates their path to reclaiming control of the chamber. Fetterman concluded his remarks with a strong message to Platner: “Go back under that rock that you came from.”
