Shared Disdain for LeBron James Unites Craig Carton and Michael Rapaport

Craig Carton and Michael Rapaport share more than just their passion for the New York Knicks; they also have a mutual dislike for LeBron James.

Rapaport appeared on the premiere of OutKick’s “The Craig Carton Show,” expressing his feelings towards the 76ers star. Carton acknowledged James’ skill but cited a 2017 incident as the root of his disapproval.

“I’ll tell you the number one reason I’m not a LeBron guy,” Carton said. “Years ago, when he was in Cleveland, and our country is going through racial issues,” he continued during the show.

The Associated Press reported vandals spray-painted racial slurs on the gate of James’ Brentwood home. Carton believed James used the incident to involve himself in larger discussions on race.

“For a guy who’s such a prominent African-American to try to get in on the conversation by inventing something that never took place, dead to me,” Carton stated.

Meanwhile, Rapaport’s disdain stems from a personal experience. The actor shared that he had never spoken ill of James prior to an incident involving his children.

“I brought my little kids, and he like Heismaned,” Rapaport recounted.

Rapaport expressed disappointment when James declined a photo opportunity with his children.

Rapaport mentioned rumors possibly affecting James’ decision but emphasized it had nothing to do with the children.

With James joining the 76ers, Carton and Rapaport will have frequent encounters with him during Knicks games this season.

Carton’s show, debuting on September 8, promises prominent guests offering insights into sports and global events.
