His death occurred on May 25 at his residence in Woodstock, New York. Rollins was recognized for integrating tradition with innovation, continually shaping the jazz scene for six decades.

Rollins, often referred to as the ‘saxophone colossus,’ was heralded as America’s greatest living jazz musician during his lifetime. His death was confirmed by his publicist, Terri Hinte, through an official statement. Rollins retired from performing more than ten years ago due to pulmonary fibrosis.
