Swift’s Presence Sparks Reactions at NBA Finals

3 weeks ago 0

Pop superstar Taylor Swift drew considerable attention at Madison Square Garden during Game 4 of the NBA Finals. Though she was met with enthusiasm from most of the crowd, ESPN personality Monica McNutt had a different take.

On the jumbotron, Swift stood out among celebrities like Timothee Chalamet, Larry David, and Ben Stiller. McNutt expressed skepticism about Swift’s loyalty to the New York Knicks, questioning her fandom directly by saying, “Is that Taylor Swift? She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl.” This contrasted sharply with the warm reception Swift received from the majority of fans in attendance.

The evening saw a parade of celebrities at the Knicks versus San Antonio Spurs matchup, with Swift arguably being the biggest star present. Courtside was bustling with VIPs such as Tracy Morgan, Rainn Wilson, Jimmy Fallon, Jerry Seinfeld, and Kevin Jonas.

Swift’s connection to the Knicks dates back to 2014, and she has attended several games at Madison Square Garden. Her presence at these events has often been highlighted by photos with former Knicks players like Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire. On this occasion, Swift wore a “Stevie Knicks” shirt alongside sisters Este and Alana Haim.

While McNutt questioned Swift’s fandom, Tyler Murray, a play-by-play announcer, viewed the situation positively. He took the opportunity to capture the moment by taking a photo of Swift on his phone.

The Knicks faced a challenging start against the Spurs, falling behind significantly early in the game. By halftime, San Antonio had built a 76-49 lead.

Despite the setback, the Knicks managed an impressive comeback in the second half, overcoming the 29-point deficit to win 107-106, marking the largest comeback in NBA Finals history. OG Anunoby sealed the victory by scoring the go-ahead basket in the game’s final moments.
