A teenager reportedly breached the perimeter of Portsmouth International Airport, New Hampshire, in an incident involving a police pursuit on Saturday evening.
According to the New Hampshire State Police (NHSP), the event occurred shortly after 8 p.m. The individual involved is identified as Wyatt Seely, a 17-year-old from Rochester. Following the crash, Seely was found intoxicated.
The police chase began as authorities were searching for a vehicle associated with crimes reported in nearby areas. The pursuit involved a black 2008 Ford Mustang on Durham Street in Portsmouth. Despite efforts to stop the vehicle, the driver fled.
The Mustang reportedly lacked its lights and crashed through the airport’s perimeter fence. It traveled across an aircraft parking apron and struck a Kubota tractor and a small, unoccupied, stationary plane. The vehicle was stopped, and Seely was taken into custody by state troopers.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Seely faces multiple charges, including misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated (DWI), aggravated DWI, disobeying a police officer, conduct after an accident, and reckless driving. Seely is set to be arraigned in Portsmouth District Court on September 9, 2026.
Local police and fire departments, along with Pease Fire and Emergency Services, played a role during the event.
