An unusual moment unfolded in East Texas when a sheriff’s deputy faced an unexpected scare. A deer, believed to be dead, startled the officer by suddenly coming to life, a phenomenon caught on the deputy’s dashcam.
Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace shared the footage on Facebook, offering a lighthearted take on the incident. Wallace invited viewers to enjoy the video, saying, “Watch when he encounters what he thinks is a dead deer until it comes back to life!”
The video starts with the deputy approaching a seemingly lifeless doe lying on the roadside.
As the deputy nears the animal, it springs to life. The surprised officer lets out a scream, then swiftly returns to his patrol car. Despite the shock, he managed to laugh off the incident, exclaiming, “OK, we’re good.”
Footage shows the deer sitting upright before the clip ends. Sheriff Wallace reported that the animal escaped into the nearby woods unharmed. Sharing a playful note on Facebook, he mentioned, “Instead of a citation, the ‘suspect’ made a four-legged getaway and vanished into the East Texas woods.”
This unscripted moment has captivated the online community, garnering over 10 million views, according to Wallace.
