Trump Administration Establishes Task Force to Combat Birth Tourism

Another executive order titled “Continuing To Protect The Meaning And Value Of American Citizenship” specifies certain categories of children who, according to the administration, do not qualify for birthright citizenship.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has expressed opposition to Trump’s executive orders. The organization, which successfully sued the Trump administration in a case decided by the Supreme Court in June, urged a federal judge in New Hampshire to ensure that the new order does not affect the citizenship of babies included in that lawsuit.
