Trump Proposes Hollywood Revitalization Led by Voight, Gibson, and Stallone

1 month ago 0

President Trump recently announced efforts to reinvigorate the U.S. film and television industry through Special Ambassadors. He acknowledged a productive meeting with Jon Voight, one of the appointed ambassadors, who has been a strong advocate for change in Hollywood.

Trump expressed concerns about the exodus of film production to countries like Canada. He labeled Hollywood a disaster due to lack of local incentives affecting California’s economy.

Voight, supported by industry leaders, proposed a federal tax incentive to revive U.S. film and television production. Trump supported the idea, suggesting that increased tax revenue would offset the initial incentive costs.

Efforts have begun to discuss this proposal with leaders of both political parties. Trump stressed the importance of bipartisan support due to significant financial losses in states like California.

The proposal includes federal tax incentives, changes to tax codes, and the establishment of co-production treaties with foreign nations. These measures aim to make domestic production more attractive and level the playing field.

Special Advisor Steven Paul and Voight submitted a comprehensive plan to the president. The plan emphasizes job training, infrastructure subsidies, and strategic tariffs.

Motion Picture Association Chairman Charles Rivkin sees federal incentives as pivotal for reviving production across all states. He welcomed Trump’s support in this endeavor.

Voight and his partners discussed collaboration with various industry stakeholders, highlighting the need to enhance domestic film production.

The White House is currently reviewing the comprehensive plan. Trump maintains communication with his Hollywood Ambassadors to ensure a strategic approach in making the U.S. a dominant cultural force once more.
