Trump’s Childhood Home Sold After Renovation

3 weeks ago 0

President Trump’s childhood home sold for nearly $2 million after a substantial renovation. The New York City residence, once mold-ridden and abandoned, has been transformed into a modern living space. Built by Trump’s father, Fred Trump, in 1940, the Tudor-style estate in Queens was the president’s home until he was four years old. The Trump family no longer owns the property.

The home sold for $1.93 million, as reported by real estate websites. The buyer, whose identity remains undisclosed, entered the contract in July. Tommy Lin, the seller, purchased the property last year for $835,000 after it had been vacant for years. Lin, a developer, invested an additional $500,000 in an eight-month renovation, adding features such as a chef’s kitchen, herringbone wood floors, and spa-like bathrooms, according to the New York Post.

The property has seen multiple ownership changes in recent years. In 2017, after Trump became president, it sold for $2.14 million. The buyer was a company named Trump Birth Home LLC, which briefly listed the house for rent on Airbnb. It included a life-sized cardboard cutout of Trump, copies of his book “The Art of the Deal,” and a framed People magazine cover featuring him.

In 2019, the house was listed again for $2.9 million but did not sell until Lin acquired it. The property had fallen into disrepair, suffering water damage and mold issues due to a burst pipe and becoming home to feral cats.

Trump, now 80, gained wealth through real estate with projects like Trump Tower in Manhattan. He later transitioned into politics. As president, he has overseen significant changes to the White House, including the addition of a massive ballroom and the installation of gold-plated fixtures in the Oval Office.
