Trump’s Renewed Warning to Iran: Potential ‘Hard’ Strikes Loom

President Donald Trump has reiterated his warning to Iran. If negotiations between Washington and Tehran falter again, the United States could strike the country “really hard.” Trump conveyed this message during an interview with Fox News’ Trace Gallagher. “If they back out again, they’re going to get hit really hard,” Trump asserted. “They know that. They understand that. I have no choice. They can’t have a nuclear weapon. It’s very simple.” He emphasized that military action remains on the table if diplomacy fails.

Trump recounted the situation, saying, “We were going to a tremendous attack, the biggest since World War II, and they called me and said very politely, ‘Please, can we talk?’ And I said, ‘Yes, we can talk. Let’s get it done.’

Recently, Trump indicated that a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and restrict Iran’s nuclear ambitions was “imminent.” Despite Iranian denials of direct talks with the U.S., The Associated Press reported progress in negotiations mediated by Oman.

When pressed about when the U.S. might give up on Iran negotiations, Trump noted he was not in a hurry, stating, “I have plenty of time.” Criticizing former administrations for not resolving the issue, Trump said, “It should have been done by many presidents over many years, and it wasn’t, and I’m doing it.” He criticized the nuclear agreement established under President Barack Obama.
