Two Teens Injured in E-Bike and SUV Collision in Libertyville

Two 15-year-old girls were injured in a collision while riding an e-bike in Libertyville. The crash involved an SUV and occurred on Tuesday night.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Winchester Road at 9:08 p.m. following a report of the incident. Police confirmed that a Chevrolet Blazer was heading north on Milwaukee Avenue and continued through the intersection at Winchester Road, having a green traffic signal. It collided with the e-bike, which was ridden by the two teens and moving east across Milwaukee Avenue, just north of the intersection.

Both teenagers were initially transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center. One of the girls, due to life-threatening injuries, was later moved to Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. The other girl is still at Condell with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The driver of the Blazer was not injured. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
