Stefon Diggs Found Not Guilty on Strangulation and Assault Charges
With a legal victory behind him, Diggs now looks towards NFL free agency, as reported by NFL Network on Wednesday. The Commanders will sign him, possibly for a one-year contract that exceeds the minimum salary.
Diggs will integrate into a wide receiver group that boasts established players such as Terry McLaurin, Treylon Burks, Luke McCaffery, and Dyami Brown. These veterans will guide rookie Antonio Williams as he progresses in his NFL career.
For Diggs, this new chapter is promising. He is returning to his roots in the DMV, which includes D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. After enjoying his first healthy offseason in three years, Diggs is pairing up with a quality quarterback, Jayden Daniels.
However, The Commanders’ decision is a setback for Brandon Aiyuk. Concerns have emerged around Aiyuk’s off-field behavior that NFL teams prefer to avoid. His actions have included:
- Filming himself driving over 100 MPH near the 49ers training facility.
- Posting a racetrack video after an arrest warrant for alleged speeding.
- Mocking the 49ers by throwing cash on the floor.
- Ridiculing coach Kyle Shanahan post-accident.
Aiyuk has been open about wanting to join the Commanders to reunite with his former college teammate, Jayden Daniels. Despite initial interest, the Commanders are looking elsewhere, possibly prompting Aiyuk to reassess his behavior.
