Weston Police Seek Help in Identifying Masked Prowler

A wealthy suburb near Boston, Massachusetts, is dealing with a suspicious incident involving a masked prowler. The Weston Police Department reported that surveillance cameras captured a suspicious figure outside a residential property in the early hours of Sunday, August 2.

The individual, seen wearing a bicycle helmet and a mask, was recorded by cameras between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m. The authorities are now appealing to the public for assistance in their ongoing investigation.

Although there is no evidence that the suspect entered the home, the presence of the masked figure on private property during such hours has raised concerns.

“Based on the circumstances, we believe the person’s intentions were likely not lawful,”

the police stated. The figure seemed to have emerged from a nearby trail, approaching a Highland Street residence with a flashlight.

Weston, known for its luxury real estate and proximity to Boston, is one of the state’s most affluent towns. In one released image, the individual appears to illuminate a three-car garage with a flashlight.

Investigators noted another instance where the suspect seemed to carry a hunting chair from the property to the woods. Additional footage depicted the person with a bicycle helmet.

Police Chief Denis Linehan described the situation as deeply concerning:

“It’s creepy, there is no doubt about it. Anytime you have someone on somebody else’s property masked, I don’t care what time of day it is, that is concerning. And when it’s three in the morning for an extended period, we’re overly concerned.”

Authorities are prompting local residents to review footage from their home surveillance or doorbell cameras during those early hours.

“Even footage showing someone walking, riding a bicycle, or leaving the area could be helpful to our investigation,” they advised.
