WNBA All-Star Game in Chicago: Jonquel Jones Leads Team Spoon to Victory

The WNBA marked its 30th season by hosting the All-Star Game in Chicago, the event’s first visit since 2022. The game was packed with action, with Jonquel Jones delivering an outstanding performance, helping Caitlin Clark and Team Spoon secure a victory over Marina Mabrey and Team Coop. Jones scored 22 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and provided eight assists in a 129-122 win, earning her the most valuable player honor.

Team Spoon showcased a strong offense, with eight players scoring in double digits during the All-Star Game, which saw 127 attempted three-pointers. Allisha Gray contributed 19 points, while Clark added 17. The summer event attracted a record audience of 19,783 at the United Center, known for hosting the Chicago Bulls. On Friday, related events including the 3-point contest and Shooting Stars competition took place at the nearby Wintrust Arena.

The 6-foot-6 Seattle Storm center Dominique Malonga became the seventh player to dunk in an All-Star Game. At 20 years old, she is the youngest to accomplish this during the event, as per WNBA records.
