49ers CEO Jed York Arrested and Charged in Ohio

1 month ago 0

John “Jed” York, principal owner and CEO of the San Francisco 49ers, faced legal issues over the weekend in Ohio. York entered a plea of no contest to charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools. Law enforcement arrested him in East Palestine, near the Pennsylvania border, on Sunday. Initially, York faced charges related to engaging in prostitution, but prosecutors later amended this to disorderly conduct.

York, a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, posted a $5,000 bond. Although details are scarce, authorities reported that local police collaborated with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force for the arrest. Court records indicate York was sentenced to two days in the Columbiana County Jail, though he received credit for one day already served. Additionally, he must pay $1,150 in fines. Authorities confiscated $160 from York, which will go to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force as part of the legal agreement.

York has requested that the incident be expunged from his record. Since 2008, he has served as the team president of the 49ers. As of Monday morning, the team had not issued a statement regarding the situation. The NFL confirmed they are reviewing the case under their personal conduct policy. Nexstar’s WKBN reached out to both the team and York’s attorney for comments.
