A 9-year-old boy was involved in a shooting incident on the South Side of Chicago on Friday afternoon. The young boy fired a shot that critically wounded a 13-year-old boy. The incident took place within a residence located on the 5200 block of South Wells Street in the Fuller Park neighborhood.
According to Chicago police, the shooting occurred shortly after 4 p.m. The 13-year-old victim was transported to UChicago Medicine in critical condition, having sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
The authorities recovered one handgun at the scene of the shooting. Detectives from the area are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
