A 40-year-old man has been taken into custody after allegedly stabbing a woman during an argument in the Englewood area, according to Chicago police. The incident unfolded shortly before 2 a.m. in a residence located on the 7200 block of South Hoyne Avenue. The argument between the suspect and a 45-year-old woman escalated into a physical altercation, leading the man to use a sharp object to inflict injuries on the woman’s neck and abdomen.
The suspect attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by responding officers soon after. The woman was transported to UChicago Medicine and is currently in good condition. Detectives are conducting an investigation, with charges pending.
