A recent mandatory disclosure has revealed that President Trump earned $2.2 billion during his initial year back in the White House. This information has sparked various reactions among his supporters and critics.
Some of Trump’s supporters view his earnings as evidence of his well-regarded business skills. Joe Borelli, a former New York City Council Republican leader and managing director of Chartwell Strategy Group, emphasized that Trump has always been known for his financial success, stating, “Nobody who voted for Donald Trump — a guy with skyscrapers with his name on it, with a plane that has his name on it — is suspect of him making money.”
However, Trump’s substantial earnings during his presidency have been largely unaddressed by his core supporters. Notably, his base has started pushing back against some of his policies, particularly policies seen as neglecting everyday Americans. Critics from the far-right, including some members of Congress and influential media voices, have expressed dissatisfaction with Trump’s actions. They have particularly focused on his military engagement in Iran and his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, which they demand to be released. They accuse him of prioritizing personal gains over voter interests.
According to the new financial disclosures, a significant portion of Trump’s income, approximately $1.4 billion, comes from his family’s ventures in the cryptocurrency market. In 2025, the Trump family’s leading crypto company, World Liberty Financial, benefited greatly when an investment firm from the United Arab Emirates acquired close to half of its shares. Trump’s additional income during this period included sales of his $TRUMP memecoin and World Liberty’s own digital token transactions.
Despite his significant involvement in the cryptocurrency industry, Trump maintains that he does not manage the daily operations of his private companies.
