U.S. Challenges Iran at U.N. Security Council

3 hours ago 0

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, challenged Iran during a recent UN Security Council meeting. He responded to Iran’s accusations by asserting, ‘You will not silence this body.’

Iranian diplomat Amir Saeid Iravani claimed that council members were spreading falsehoods about its attacks on neighboring Gulf states. Waltz reminded Iravani of the venue, emphasizing that disinformation won’t silence the Security Council.

This meeting was triggered by drone and missile attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, following U.S. airstrikes against Iran. Iravani accused the U.S. and other members of lying and falsely blaming Iran.

Once again, the representative of the United States has resorted to lies and disinformation against Iran.

He argued that attending the meeting ignored the root causes of aggression and portrayed Iran as a victim.

Waltz showed images depicting destruction in Bahrain and Kuwait due to Iranian attacks. These included a family’s home, a hotel, and a building used by first responders, all targeted by Shahed drones.

Bahrain’s foreign minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, reported that since February, Bahrain has endured multiple attacks, resulting in civilian casualties. He disputed Iran’s claim about targeting military objectives.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran remain, with accusations against each other of violating a ceasefire. President Donald Trump commented on U.S. strikes in response to Iran’s actions.

The exchanges began with an Iranian drone strike on a vessel near Oman. The U.S. military retaliated, and discussions on further action continue.
