France Advances to Quarterfinals After Intense Match Against Paraguay

In the 67th minute, a penalty kick was awarded to France following a foul against Desire Doue. After a VAR review, Mbappé converted the penalty, scoring his seventh goal of the tournament, tying him with Lionel Messi for the lead. This goal marked Mbappé’s 19th career World Cup goal.

After the goal, Paraguay struggled to maintain their earlier form, although they put pressure back on France towards the end of the match. Mike Maignan, France’s goalkeeper, was forced to make his only save in the final moments of the game.
