Nevada’s Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony proposes an ambitious plan to boost the state’s entertainment sector through space tourism. With Elon Musk’s involvement in Nevada, the idea may not be far-fetched.

Stavros Anthony: A Diverse Background

Anthony’s career spans nearly 30 years in law enforcement, serving as a regent in higher education, and as a Las Vegas city councilman. He ran a vigorous campaign for the mayoral seat in Las Vegas. Since 2022, he has worked alongside Governor Joe Lombardo, becoming the only Republican pair to unseat incumbent Democrats for governor and lieutenant governor roles.

In a recent discussion with Fox News Digital at Las Vegas’s FreedomFest, Anthony delved into his career, Nevada’s economy, and future electoral contests projected for 2026.

Entertainment Hub and Space Tourism

Anthony views Nevada as a premier entertainment locale offering a favorable setting for entrepreneurs with minimal regulation. He advocates for the burgeoning space tourism industry.

“In 10 years, we’ve transformed into the sports capital of the world. Baseball, hockey, football, coming basketball, F1, and NASCAR have all set foot here. Las Vegas is where possibilities abound,” Anthony stated. “Space tourism might thrive here given our open land, ideal for someone like Elon Musk to launch rockets,” he added.

Anthony stresses that while new tourism prospects arise, it’s up to private enterprises to make them reality, and he fully supports entrepreneurial innovation.

Policing as Problem-Solving

Anthony credits his time with Las Vegas Metro Police for providing a problem-solving aptitude essential for his political endeavors. He emphasizes the significance of addressing community issues, aiming to heighten residents’ quality of life.

“Police work extends beyond high-speed chases and arrests. It’s about problem-solving within neighborhoods to improve living standards,” Anthony explained. “That’s the same approach necessary in politics.”

Endorsements and Economic Policies

Donald Trump endorses the Lombardo/Anthony administration. Anthony predicts the no tax on tips policy will gain favor with voters.

“Trump’s backing is pivotal. His no taxes on tips initiative resonates strongly in Nevada,” Anthony remarked. Trump has attracted crowds of 5,000 to 6,000 during past visits, fostering a strong political bond.

Influenced by Immigrant Roots

Anthony attributes his political ideology to values from his Cypriot immigrant parents who prioritized hard work and self-reliance.

“They believed in hard work and not relying on government aid. Their focus was creating opportunities for the family to thrive,” he said. “My role is to support Nevadans, enabling them to pursue the American dream independently.”
