Family of Slain NYC 12-Year-Old Calls for Justice and Crime Policy Review

In the wake of the tragic death of 12-year-old Jacob Freytes in the Bronx, New York City’s crime policies face increased scrutiny. Jacob, an innocent victim, lost his life to a stray bullet. His family is now demanding justice and calling for stricter crime laws.

Jacob’s mother, Migdalia Martinez, and his sister, Angelica Coriano, appeared on ‘Fox & Friends’. They expressed their grief and urged for action against the suspect, criticizing his extensive arrest record. Martinez voiced her concerns that career criminals feel safer now than ever before.

Along with this tragedy, another heart-wrenching incident shook North Dakota. Kailey Erhart, aged 22, stands accused of fatally stabbing her two young children. The attack left officers at the scene traumatized by its brutality.

According to police, Erhart used a gun to threaten her estranged husband before committing the act. Her 1-year-old child survived but sustained severe injuries. Officers described the scene as one of the most disturbing in their careers.

A scene like that is something that nobody should ever have to see, and the way [the officers] came through in one of the most horrific times that they’ll probably experience in their life, I’m proud, said Mandan Police Chief Jason Ziegler at a press conference.

Reports indicate that Erhart had previously threatened her husband with a gun, which he managed to disarm. During the confrontation, Erhart inflicted minor injuries on him. The situation escalated, resulting in the tragic loss of life.

Erhart faces nine charges, including murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, and terrorizing. A judge set her bond at $3 million, considering the severity of the charges. Additionally, the court placed no-contact orders against her.

The family’s grief has been met with community support. A GoFundMe for the children and their father raised over $25,000. The fundraiser, organized by the children’s grandmother, aims to support the surviving child who requires ongoing medical care.
