A recent police raid on the residence of Adnan Hirsi, Rep. Ilhan Omar’s son, has captured the attention of social media. According to Alpha News, Minneapolis police conducted the raid earlier this week, seizing firearms and ammunition. Abdulrahman Abdi, Hirsi’s roommate, was arrested during the operation. Neither Hirsi nor Rep. Omar were implicated in any criminal activities in connection with the incident.
The revelation that Abdulrahman Abdi lives with Hirsi ignited criticism among Omar’s opponents online. Small business owner Steve Ferguson, with a substantial follower base on X, commented, “Nothing to see here. Move along.” Right-wing activist Benny Johnson remarked, “Not a good look for Ilhan Omar.”
Various online personalities expressed their opinions. “Spitfire” suggested the investigation is becoming increasingly intriguing. Townhall columnist Derek Hunter brought up an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory about Omar, which she has repeatedly denied.
Other commentators like Gunther Eagleman and Eitan Fischberger criticized Omar and her family, alleging connections to violent activities and controversial associations. Former Trump advisors Corey Lewandowski and Sean Spicer shared the report without additional commentary.
The report disclosed that police executed a search warrant at the apartment shared by Abdi and Hirsi. Guns and ammunition were recovered, and Abdi was reportedly arrested that same day. However, Hirsi was not linked to any unlawful conduct.
The Minneapolis Police Department has refrained from providing comments to Fox News Digital. Confirmation of Abdi’s arrest came from available records, showing his booking on Tuesday and release the following day.
Omar, an outspoken proponent of gun control, was approached by Fox News Digital for a statement on the incident. Elizabeth Elkind, a reporter focused on political coverage for Fox News Digital, is leading reporting efforts related to the House of Representatives.
