Dolly Parton’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was reportedly vandalized with scratches soon after the country music icon passed away. A fan visiting the star noticed the damage and shared their observations on social media. The fan’s photo shows the star with visible scratches.

Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, confirmed the vandalism in a statement to Fox News Digital. She said, “A fan went to the star yesterday and reported on social that the star was vandalized with many scratches. From the photo she posted, it does appear the star was vandalized with scratches.”

Martinez mentioned that flowers previously placed at Parton’s star were removed prior to the vandalism being noted. This was part of a scheduled repair process arranged earlier. “The crew just completed the first part of making said repairs,” she added. Currently, the star is undergoing repairs, managed by the Hollywood Historic Trust, the organization responsible for maintaining these landmarks.

Completion of the star’s repair is expected soon, ensuring the landmark will be polished and ready for fans by Friday. This offers visitors a chance to honor Parton’s memory at the iconic site.

Dolly Parton died on August 25 at age 80 after battling cancer. The singer passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Following Parton’s burial, her niece, Lainey Mae Parton, shared heartfelt memories on Instagram, describing her grandmother’s impact as a source of love and support. “From the time I was little, my granny always had a way of making me feel like I was enough,” Lainey Mae wrote. She also noted that her grandmother supported her decision to pursue beauty school rather than college.

Parton’s niece expressed gratitude for her grandmother’s financial assistance through school and guidance in kick-starting her career. “She didn’t just tell me to chase my dreams, she helped me get there,” she added.

Lainey Mae shared her emotional sentiments, recalling her granny’s voice, laugh, and hugs, alongside treasured memories of early-morning phone calls. “It still doesn’t feel real that she’s gone,” Lainey Mae wrote, emphasizing the void left by Parton’s passing.

Parton’s abundant career spanned decades, featuring chart-toppers like “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” “9 to 5,” and “I Will Always Love You.” Her film roles included appearances in “9 to 5,” “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” “Steel Magnolias,” and “Joyful Noise.”

Beyond entertainment, Parton gained recognition for her philanthropy. Her Imagination Library project has distributed millions of books to children globally.

Lainey Mae concluded, “I feel incredibly lucky that I got to call her my granny. Thank you for always believing in me, loving me, and making me feel like I could do anything. I love you, Granny. Always.”
