Amazon has revealed plans to offer substantial grocery discounts to its U.S. employees, who shop at its Whole Foods stores. These discounts could be as much as 20 percent.
Amazon stated that the decision is based on feedback from employees, rather than being a response to a recent government report.
In recent months, a report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office indicated a significant increase in the number of Amazon employees relying on food stamps and Medicaid. Over a period exceeding five years, these numbers have nearly tripled.
