A Michigan resident, Justin Tye, 57, faces criticism after expressing concerns about the growing Islamic population in his hometown of Warren. Tye asserted his commitment to speaking out during an interview with Fox News Digital.

Tye, who was born and raised in Warren, observed significant changes in his community attributed to an influx of Muslim immigrants over the last decade. This commentary led to his personal address being publicized. Consequently, he received hate mail, with one package labeling him “Bigot at Large” and containing derogatory messages.

Tye stated his determination to continue voicing his opinions. He emphasized respect for long-time residents, pointing out that many, like himself, have deep roots in the area. According to Tye, several of his former classmates have even returned to live in their childhood neighborhoods.

Despite backlash, Tye provided anecdotes of support from Warren residents. Encounters at local shops showcased people acknowledging his interview and offering their support.

Tye detailed transformations in his neighborhood, recounting the sudden construction of mosques, including activity following the establishment of a local mosque six years ago, which altered the community’s dynamics.

Changes in local businesses were noted, with American restaurants being replaced by those serving different cuisines. Long-residing neighbors expressed feelings of being overwhelmed by these developments.

Following Tye’s address being shared, Warren city officials condemned such actions. They emphasized the importance of safety and privacy for all residents, denouncing any form of threat or intimidation stemming from individuals exercising their right to speak out.
