Two individuals were shot while riding a CTA bus in Englewood late Wednesday afternoon. Authorities reported that the incident occurred in the 300 block of West 63rd Street at approximately 4:40 p.m.
The victims include a 57-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman. According to Chicago police, both were struck by gunfire from an unidentified suspect. The man sustained a gunshot wound to his left flank and was transported to UChicago Medicine in critical condition.
The woman received a gunshot wound to her left arm. She was also taken to UChicago Medicine and was initially listed in fair condition.
Detectives from the Wentworth Area are investigating the shooting.
