Prince William is unlikely to reunite with his brother, Prince Harry, for a potential documentary about their late mother, Princess Diana. Piers Morgan commented on the situation, noting the long-standing rift between the brothers makes any reunion unlikely.
“Well, they don’t speak to each other and haven’t done so for years,” Morgan, host of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” told Fox News Digital. Morgan mentioned that William is “incandescent with anger” about Harry’s actions, including writing books, creating Netflix documentaries, participating in podcasts, and criticizing the royal family, particularly his wife Catherine, Camilla, and King Charles.
Several royal experts confirmed to Fox News Digital that Prince William and Prince Harry have not been on speaking terms since 2022 after Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Morgan remarked, “Harry took out the spray gun,” illustrating the friction Harry has caused within the family.
William has decided not to make a film about Princess Diana to mark the 30th anniversary of her death next year, partly to avoid additional conflict with Harry. Multiple offers for documentaries about his mother have been rejected by William, who finds his tributes for the 20th anniversary sufficient.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is contemplating various projects to honor his mother’s legacy on the upcoming anniversary, according to People magazine. Currently, no documentary has been finalized, but Harry is in touch with family members and friends associated with Diana.
Royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner highlighted the brothers’ estrangement, which has reportedly confused their father, King Charles III. Friends of William believe he could mark the 30th anniversary privately, avoiding further disputes.
The Times reported that William found Charles Spencer’s newly published memoir “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister” challenging due to its critical perspective on King Charles III. The book was released with little advance notice to William.
In previous collaborations for Diana’s 20th anniversary in 2017, William and Harry stated they wouldn’t speak as openly or publicly about her again. Both brothers were deeply affected by Diana’s tragic death at a young age — William was 15, and Harry was 12.
Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” released in 2023, recounts his emotional experiences surrounding Diana’s death. He has expressed a desire for reconciliation despite his estrangement from the royal family since leaving royal duties in 2020.
