Sylvester Stallone has addressed criticism regarding nepotism in Hollywood after casting his daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone, in his crime drama series ‘Tulsa King.’ The 80-year-old actor responded to those questioning Scarlet’s role on the show. He argued that as a parent, ensuring his daughter has advantages is important.
‘First, they go, “Nepotism is terrible.” I said, “Oh please, you’re not a good parent if you haven’t performed a little nepotism. Then obviously you don’t care about your kids, because they come first,”‘ Stallone noted to USA Today.
The actor reaffirmed his decision, emphasizing parents want the best for their children. Despite acknowledging nepotism, Stallone explained that an opportunity does not guarantee success, highlighting the necessity of maintaining excellence in one’s career.
Scarlet Stallone portrays Spencer in ‘Tulsa King,’ while Stallone himself plays Dwight ‘The General’ Manfredi, a mobster attempting to establish a criminal empire in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Scarlet’s character becomes more involved in the family’s operations in the fourth season.
Stallone, with wife Jennifer Flavin, also has two other daughters — Sophia and Sistine Stallone. Sylvester Stallone stands by his casting choice, showcasing parental support and ambition for his daughter’s career.
Recently, Stallone shared details about the physical challenges faced during his Hollywood career, particularly after working on ‘The Expendables.’ In conversation with Fox News Digital, Stallone described various injuries, including multiple back surgeries, neck fusions, and shoulder injuries. He expressed regret over his stunt-heavy past and advised against doing dangerous stunts, leaving them to professionals.
